Shopfront Refresh for Posh Dry Cleaners, Bushey
The Brief
Posh Dry Cleaners in Bushey wanted a full shopfront refresh to bring the store’s exterior in line with the premium feel of the service inside. The existing signage had done its job for years but was starting to look dated next to newer units on the same parade, and the owners wanted a look that would stand out on the high street, work well both day and night, and give the business a more upmarket, established presence. That meant tackling the shopfront as a complete package rather than a single sign — windows, fascia, and a projecting sign all needed to work together as one refreshed identity.
What We Did
We started with the windows, producing and installing new window graphics carrying the Posh Dry Cleaners branding and key service messaging, designed to catch the eye of passing footfall while still allowing light into the shop and a clear view of the counter inside — important for a business that relies on customers feeling comfortable walking in.
For the main shopfront sign, we moved away from the previous fascia and produced a new one from aluminium composite panels, printed and finished to give a clean, solid, modern look rather than the more dated built-up letters the shop had before. Aluminium panels gave us a rigid, weatherproof fascia that keeps its finish over time on a high street unit that takes the full brunt of weather and passing traffic, while giving the branding a crisp, premium edge in keeping with the “Posh” name.
Alongside the fascia, we designed and installed a backlit projecting sign made from acrylic, mounted out from the shopfront so it reads clearly from both directions along the parade. Acrylic gave us the option to backlight the sign for strong visibility after dark and in poor weather, when a flat, unlit fascia alone would have left the shop far less visible to evening footfall and passing traffic. The combination of a solid daytime fascia and an illuminated projecting sign meant the shopfront works properly around the clock, not just during opening hours in good light.
All three elements — window graphics, fascia, and projecting sign — were designed together as one refresh rather than as separate jobs, so the branding, colours, and finish are consistent whichever part of the shopfront a customer notices first.
The Result
Posh Dry Cleaners now has a shopfront that matches the quality of the service inside, with a fascia and projecting sign that give it a clear, premium presence on the high street both day and night. The backlit acrylic sign in particular has made a noticeable difference to evening visibility, helping the shop stand out along the parade after dark when a lot of neighbouring signage goes dark or unreadable. It’s a good example of how tackling a shopfront as one complete refresh — rather than patching up individual signs over time — gives a much stronger, more cohesive result.
